117° West ist die Premium TV-Position für Lateinamerika und bietet pan-regionale Übertragungsmöglichkeiten für wichtige Networks und Inhalteanbieter.

Derzeit werden von dort aus mehr als 300 TV-Sender, darunter 50 in HD, an zehn Millionen TV-Haushalte sowie an über 1.900 Kabelnetze in Lateinamerika und in derv Karibik übertragen.

117° West beherbergt zudem eine schnell wachsende Zahl von derzeit mehr als 100 frei-empfangbaren Sendern wichtiger regionaler öffentlich-rechtlicher und privater Broadcaster

Der auf 116,8° West positionierte EUTELSAT 117 West A hat eine C-Band und Ku-Band Ausleuchtzone sowie eine leistungsstarke regionale Abdeckung im Ku-band über Nord- und Südamerika.

Der Satellit an mehr als 5.000 Gemeinschaftsantennenanlagen im Ku-Band und weitere 14.000 C-Band Antennen, die für staatliche Anwendungen und Anbindungsprojekte eingesetzt werden.

Zudem stellt EUTELSAT 117 West A hohe Datendurchsatzniveaus für Nordamerika und die Andenregion mit mehr Mbit/s pro MHZ bereit und bietet u.a. hervorragende Leistungen für soziale Anbindungsprojekte, Mobile Backhaul und VSAT-Netze.

The EUTELSAT 117 West B satellite offers four regional Ku-band beams with exceptional coverage of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, the Andean region and the Southern Cone.

Located at 117° West, the satellite strengthens DTH and DTT video capacities at the new multi-satellite neighbourhood which is already used by Millicom’s Tigo Star, Stargroup and Televisa.

EUTELSAT 117 West B also offers key services to telecom operators and government service providers in Latin America, and features a new-generation WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) payload operated by Raytheon as prime contractor for the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

EUTELSAT 117 West B is commercialised by Eutelsat Americas and is the second new-generation electric satellite in Eutelsat’s fleet.
