Cyfrowy Polsat is Poland’s largest media and telecommunications platform. In the following video, together with the Polish Chamber of Digital Broadcasting (PIRC), they explain how the Building Regulations in Poland have helped to create more choice of TV packages and channels for people living in residential buildings.

Since February 2013, the Building Regulations ensure that all new apartment blocks built must be equipped with collective satellite, terrestrial, fibre and cable television access. This gives residents access to hundreds of TV channels, depending on price and type of content. The solution is completely technology neutral: as the equipment is already installed in the building, residents can easily choose their preferred content provider from the choice available in their area.

Today, over 40% of Polish households rely on satellite television. In apartment blocks, residents appreciate the building’s collective satellite installation, enabling them to simply plug in a set-top box and receive their satellite TV offer in their apartment. Satellite TV is preferred for the number of channels it offers, including HD and UHD options, with a wide variety of content including the latest blockbusters, documentaries, and children’s programmes.
